Tasha Steelz Heavyweight Ambitions

Mrs.Lark

In May of 2019, Tasha Steelz made her Impact debut, after testing the waters in ROH and NWA beforehand. A former two time Impact Wrestling womens tag team champion and the current winner of the inaugural women’s X Divison match, making her the number one contender for the knockouts womens championship, she has her eyes on the big gold.

As she sees Mickie James taking the Knockouts title around the country, to other promotions and even showcasing it on the Royal Rumble stage, this brick city New Jersey native was seeing fire.

An anger is brewing in inside of her, as she feels that that title is already hers for the taking. That she can represent that title better than anyone else in that locker room.

After dominating the tag team division along with her equally impressive former tag team partner Kiera Hogan, Tasha knew that she had to continue to make a name for herself. Even if that meant betraying her partner and moving into a solo career.

Tasha is creating a name that she feels is known because of her hard work, not because Mickie James is patting her on the back and saying that that she would love to compete against her.

This badass afro boriqua doesn’t need a stamp of approval to feel worthy.

She’s taking the wins and earning her stripes. She has an insurance policy with her bodyguard, the bulldozer, Savannah Evans, (which is very Shawn Michaels, circa 1995 style with Diesel).

Her harsh words for the opponents always gets backed up by her equally aggressive offense.

Making it out of the extremely intense, first women’s X divison match was no small feat. She had to fight the likes of Jordynne Grace, Chelsea Green, Lady Frost, Rosemary and Alisha Edwards.

Tasha proved that she can stand with some of the best athletes on the roster.

During a recent interview,

Tasha stated that she was channeling the skills and strategies of former champions and X division veterans like Chris Sabin and Amazing Red.

Steelz has two goals, become Impact Womens champion and also show what Afro Latinas can do as heavyweight champions. We haven’t seen that level of representation on a major promotion since Savio Vega and Carlito. This has to change.

I truly hope that Steelz can get this win and represent for Puerto Rico and my hometown of Newark, NJ.

We haven’t had that many representatives in the wrestling world.

So, I would be over the moon to see her holding that title at the end of the night.

Let’s go Tasha Steelz. You have a whole community behind you!!
