Last night, after the multitude of options for viewing in the wrestling world as we started the Wrestlemania weekend, fans of wrestling were in for the annual treat of seeing some of our favorites get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
This year in particular, I was a bit gitty because one of my favorite managers Queen Sharmell was being honored.
Even when I thought about how she was going to be inducted, the reality was even better than then I could imagine.
It started out with an amazing video package of the career of Sharmell and how she entered into the business by being the vivacious and electric Storm in the nitro girls dance team. She started to train and get into in ring action as Paisley.
As the ruthless aggression era began, Booker T needed his queen and Sharmell answered the call and transformed into the Queen Sharmell that we all know and love.
Booker T beamed with pride as he inducted his Queen and said that the King Booker character wasn’t even made for him. He thought that Queen Sharmell could thrive in this role.
As he introduced his wife, he did the honor of making sure that everyone stood as he repeated ‘All Hail Queen Sharmell’ as she walked down the ramp.
Sharmell appeared in a gorgeous gown that wrapped around her and gave her a floating effect as she glided to the stage with the grace of an fairy godmother.
As she got closer to the podium, King Booker was there to welcome his Queen and to let her speak to the fans that welcomed her with such a great ovation.
Sharmell was clearly overwhelmed by the reaction and really took it all in. Her speech was eloquent and classy as she thanked women like Madusa and Molly Holly who helped her train at the power plant in WCW. Victoria and Jazz in OVW during the 2000s would also helped her and gave her a sense of comradeship.

Rey Mysterio in WCW and WWE was someone that Sharmell enjoyed working with and she also surprisingly took a thrill in being creeped out with the Boogeyman.
She thanked her brother for being a role model and her Mom for always supporting her and even tagging along on the road with her during her career.
Her love and admiration for her husband never dimmed and she thanks Booker for showing her that fairy tales can come true.

Booker looked at his wife lovingly and even got a bit choked up during the speech. You can see that the couple was full of love and joy as they are now both in the gracious halls of the hall of fame as both king and queen. Forever.
For me personally, I have admired Sharmell since my childhood and I am thrilled that she received her recognition while still being about to bask in it.

Welcome to the Hall of Fame Queen Sharmell!
