Kongtourage Faction Spotlight

Mrs.Lark

After debuting in Impact in 2007, Kong had immediately established herself as the mountain that no one would be able to get around in the Knockouts locker room.

When the tall and jacked Rhaka Khan came into the impact zone, she saw herself as the top of the food chain. This created a tension that grew with each passing week.

So, in November of 2008, when Rhaka Khan turned on Taylor Wilde in a tag match to join forces with Kong, this took everyone by surprise, but sparked an interest to see what they would do next.

The duo quickly aligned themselves with Sojo Bolt and created the stable Kongtourage. The set their sights on ODB, Christy Hemme, Taylor Wilde and Roxxi.

ODB was really on the hit list for this faction. They were able to destroy her in a 4 on 1 match. Clearly, the initial idea for Kongtourage was to have Sojo Bolt quickly tire out their opponents, then Rhaka Khan will use her powerhouse move set to weaken them and then Awesome Kong would go in for the last strike.

This faction helped to provide adversity for the growing tag team division for the Knockouts.

Sadly, Rhaka Khan and Sojo Bolt turned on Kong and Raisha Saeed and turned heel.

I think that there was more that these women could’ve done more with this faction. Maybe even have them take over the division and have the babyfaces build a faction to overtake them. Then Sojo Bolt could’ve turned heel to great fan fare.

Even though this faction was short lived, it would’ve made sense that Kong would have built a army to take over the Knockouts division. She could’ve kept it small, because this is an elite faction. Invite only.

Not everyone can enter. But one thing is for sure. This faction would have taken out everyone in their path.

At least we still have footage to think about what could’ve been.
